Inductee Eligibility
What does it take to become a member of Tau Beta Pi? Not only must you satisfy the minimum scholastic requirements to be extended an invitation to pursue candidacy, but demonstrate your good character and drive to become part of a prestigious honor society.
Scholastic Requirements
Tau Beta Pi membership is by invitation only. To be eligible for candidacy:
Undergraduate students
Be in the top 1/8th of their Junior engineering class
Be in the top 1/5th of their Senior engineering class
Graduate students
Be in the top 1/5th of their Graduate engineering class
Have their high-quality work attested to by a faculty member
Induction Requirements
To become a member of Tau Beta Pi, you must:
Attend an orientation meeting
Complete 50 points of activities (information given at orientation meetings and general body meetings)
Pay a one-time fee of $100
Polish the individual bent (recommended but not required)
Attend the induction ceremony
